About the Company

Our client is a well-established insurance organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality insurance products and services across the UK. They are committed to maintaining a robust risk culture and are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to join their growing team in London.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Risk, you will play a key role in identifying, assessing and monitoring business risks across the organisation. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help ensure the business operates within its risk appetite while supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework.
• Facilitate risk assessments with business units and senior management.
• Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and report emerging risks.
• Support the annual Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process.
• Produce high-quality risk reports for Executive Committees and the Board.
• Review operational incidents and oversee remediation plans.
• Provide challenge and guidance to business areas on risk management practices.
• Assist with regulatory compliance and governance activities.
• Promote a positive risk culture through training and stakeholder engagement.
• Liaise with Internal Audit, Compliance, Finance and business teams on risk-related initiatives.

About You

You’ll be an analytical and commercially minded risk professional with experience within the insurance or wider financial services sector.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 3+ years’ experience in Risk Management within insurance or financial services.
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Risk Management principles.
• Experience preparing Board-level risk reports.
• Knowledge of operational, strategic, financial and regulatory risks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Desirable

• Experience working within the UK insurance market.
• Knowledge of ORSA and Solvency II principles.
• Professional qualification such as IRM, CII, PRM or FRM.
• Experience using Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) systems.
