About the Company

Our client is a leading financial services organisation with a strong presence in the UK market. They are undergoing an exciting period of growth and transformation and are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to lead their commercial finance function.

This is a high-profile leadership role offering the opportunity to partner with senior executives, influence strategic decision-making, and drive financial performance across the business.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Head of FP&A will be responsible for leading the budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and performance reporting processes. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business to deliver insightful analysis that supports strategic growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Group’s budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes.
• Develop robust financial models to support strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
• Deliver insightful management information and financial performance reporting to Executive leadership.
• Provide commercial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and business performance.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Operations and Commercial teams.
• Lead the preparation of Board and Executive Committee financial presentations.
• Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, providing proactive recommendations.
• Drive continuous improvement across FP&A processes, reporting and financial systems.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing FP&A team.

About You

You will be an experienced finance leader with a strong commercial mindset and a passion for using financial insight to influence strategic decision-making.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Significant experience within Financial Planning & Analysis, Commercial Finance or Business Partnering.
• Previous experience in the Financial Services sector.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
• Experience presenting financial information to Executive and Board-level stakeholders.
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills with experience of financial planning and reporting systems.

Desirable

• Experience within banking, lending, wealth management, insurance or fintech.
• Knowledge of financial planning tools such as Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Oracle, SAP or similar.
• Experience supporting business transformation or change programmes.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and governance requirements within Financial Services.
